Poinsettia
For a wonderful Christmas
The Poinsettia, better known as the Christmas Star, owes its name to Joel Poinsett. As the American ambassador to Mexico, he discovered the plant in the 19th century and sent it as a gift to his family and friends every year. This tradition continues. On December 12, Poinsettia Day, people in America give each other a Poinsettia as a gift. The plant is a symbol of love and happiness.
Tip from our cultivation chef:
Give the Poinsettia lukewarm water, not too cold and not too warm.
Care
The Poinsettia is suitable for indoors. Place it in a bright spot but avoid direct sunlight. The Christmas Star needs a fair amount of water. Water when the top layer of potting soil is dry. Make sure the roots do not sit in water to prevent root rot. The Poinsettia does not like drafts but does love care. With proper care, the plant can remain beautiful for up to six months.
